Embellished with pale-gold metallic high relief. Its sophisticated design was inspired by the Fifth Avenue structures built and decorated during the euphoric 1930s and 1940s. The central portion of the motif is inspired by the 1936 statue of Atlas, at Rockefeller Center. The lighters are sequentially numbered from 1 to 1929, in reference to the date of Lucien Tissot Dupont’s first trip to New York. The New York Fifth Avenue limited edition is the most challenging collection ever created by S.T. Dupont craftsmen. The marriage of two colors of lacquer, enriched by multiple engraved arabesques, has fully exploited the expertise of our master lacquerers and jewelers. Guilloche, chasing, engraving, plating with precious gold and polishing are all done by hand, giving the items a luxurious luster. Fifty of ST Dupont’s most expert craftsmen work on each product. Approximately 120 hours of work are required to produce a single lighter – 3 times longer than a standard lacquered lighter. New York Fifth Avenue: American aristocrats living on Fifth Avenue in New York City during the 1930s and 1940s commissioned works from the most talented French interior decorators.
